I don´t know how he sleeps at night! – McClaren backs Southgate to seal Euro 2020 glory

Former England boss Steve McClaren believes Gareth Southgate will guide the country to Euro 2020 glory ahead of their huge semi-final against Denmark.

McClaren thinks Southgate must be struggling to sleep at night given the array of options he has when trying to select a starting XI for Wednesday s match at Wembley.

But he feels England have everything they need to get over the line at the tournament by beating Denmark and winning the final.

Italy will play either England or Denmark in Sunday s final after beating Spain on penalties in the other semi.

McClaren has been so impressed by what he has seen from England and thinks they have a squad that can technically match any other on the continent.

Physically, we are so strong, powerful, McClaren…

Barcelona 2018-19: How majestic Messi compares to his previous title-winning seasons

Barcelona are LaLiga champions for the eight time in 11 seasons after completing a 1-0 victory over Levante and there can be no doubt who has been their star man.

Lionel Messi has once again led the way, scoring 34 times – including the decisive strike from off the bench on Saturday – and setting up another 13 in 32 appearances, while also making the difference with numerous late goals.

At the age of 31, the Argentina superstar s role has changed a little and Ernesto Valverde has done his best to afford him rests where possible.

That certainly appears to have aided Messi s productivity. He is thus far averaging a goal every 73.1 minutes, and if that figure were to remain, it would be the second most effective full campaign of his career.

FIFA hit Chelsea with transfer ban until 2011

English Premier League club Chelsea have been fined and hit with a ban on registering players until January 2011 by world football s ruling body FIFA as punishment for their role in a contractual dispute.

The sanction follows a decision by FIFA s Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC), which met on August 27 to rule on a contractual dispute opposing French first division club Lens to French player Gael Kakuta and London giants Chelsea.

The DRC found Kakuta guilty of breach of contract and also found Chelsea guilty of inducing the player to break his contract with the French club, which had lodged a claim with FIFA seeking compensation and demanding sporting sanctions both on the player and Chelsea.

A statement from FIFA said the DRC found that the player had indeed br…

WSL clubs see combined revenues rocket during record-breaking 2021-22 season

Women’s Super League clubs saw aggregate revenues rise by 60 per cent in a record-breaking 2021-22 season, according to new figures published by Deloitte.

Clubs brought in combined revenues of £32million, up from £20million in the previous season, with the increases driven by new commercial and broadcast deals.

The higher revenues helped clubs bring down their aggregate wages-to-revenue ratio from 92 per cent to 78 per cent despite wages rising to a combined total of £25million, up 37 per cent on the previous campaign.

Clubs made an aggregate pre-tax loss of £14million, according to Deloitte’s Annual Review of Football Finance, which will be released in full on Thursday.

From the start of last season, WSL and Women’s Championship clubs enjoyed t…

Best Spot Bets for NFL Week 3: Lookahead Game Could Bite Raiders

As we get deeper into the NFL betting season, beating the bookies week after week becomes tougher. That means finding line value hiding in the weeds and one of the best ways to flush out those advantageous angles is situational handicapping.

Better known as spot bets, this practice pushes the power rankings and deep-dive analytics to the side and gets its nails dirty digging into the schedule and psyche of teams heading into their upcoming matchups.

Here are my favorite NFL Week 3 spot bets to keep in mind while making your NFL picks.

Vikings vs Bears Odds, Picks, and Predictions Week 6: Chicago Offense Stays Hot

Week 6 odds for the NFL feature an NFC North battle between the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears. Both teams are off to an ugly 1-4 start to the season but Chicago just pulled off its first win after hammering Washington by 20 points.

Meanwhile, Minnesota is coming off a defeat against Kansas City, but the team’s biggest loss was seeing superstar receiver Justin Jefferson go down with a hamstring injury.

NFL odds have the Vikes as 3-point road favorites with the Over/Under at 44. Here are my best free NFL picks for the Vikings vs. Bears on October 15.

Best NFL Milestone Bets for Week 18: Bills Call Shakir's Number in Winner-Take-All

Week 18 is a minefield with all the teams resting players and usage unknown, but that’s a perfect time to hit some plus-money milestone NFL prop picks. When variance is high, get on the long NFL odds, that’s what I always say.

I’m finishing up the regular season with a WR3 that’s getting more routes thanks to an increase in 11-personnel, hitting a safe-floor tight end for 50-plus yards, and betting on a gunslinger indoors.

These are my best milestone NFL picks for Sunday’s games.

NFL Week 2 Total Bets: Giants, Commanders Can't Find End Zone

This week’s NFC East clash between the New York Giants and Washington Commanders has seen money pour in on the Over, driving the total up to 43.5 from the opening number of 41.5.

I’m going against that line movement with my favorite Week 2 total bets because I can’t see many points being put on the board in a quarterback duel between Daniel Jones and rookie Jayden Daniels. Read on to find out what my other two favorite NFL picks are in the Over/Under markets this Sunday.
