Browns vs Bengals Odds, Picks, and Predictions Week 18: Cleveland's Offense Falls Flat Under Driskel

The Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals wrap up their regular season on Sunday at Paycor Stadium. With the Browns locked into the fifth seed in the AFC and the Bengals eliminated from the playoffs, the Week 18 odds will likely showcase a boring affair in this one.

With nothing to gain from a victory, the Browns are expected to rest multiple starters, which has led to the NFL odds for this contest growing from Bengals -4 to -7. Here are my best free NFL picks for Browns vs. Bengals on January 7.

Browns vs Bengals predictions

Considering how many injuries the Cleveland Browns have dealt with, it makes sense to rest as many key starters as possible in this spot. This offense had bee…

Falcons vs Eagles MNF Passing Prop Picks & Odds: Hurts Gets Back Into End Zone

Monday Night Football “goes to the birds” when the Philadelphia Eagles host the Atlanta Falcons in the Week 2 finale.

The leaders of those two flocks are under the prime-time lights, with Jalen Hurts at the wheel of a dynamic Philadelphia attack and Kirk Cousins questioned about his health after a dud debut for Atlanta.

I look at the quarterback props for Monday Night Football and give my best Falcons vs. Eagles predictions and NFL picks for this September 16 tilt.

Kirk Cousins odds and props

My best bet: Kirk Cousins Over 1.5 passing touchdowns (+148 at FanDuel)

My analysis:I’ll say this is a “best lean” rather than a best bet.

The state of Kirk Co…

The STOP FOOTBALL campaign has been overturned on appeal

START FOOTBALL!

Following the Premier League’s unanimous decision to embark on Phase Two of Project Restart, Troy Deeney has agreed to return to Watford training having opted to sit out his team’s first tentative steps back on to the pitch because he didn’t want to risk bringing home a virus that might endanger his infant son’s life.

The Fiver presumed curiosity had got the better of Troy, who wished to see how his teammates would pull off the impressive feat of gathering in small groups and tackling one other while simultaneously “minimising unnecessary close contact”. Sort of like a government advisor simultaneously breaking the law while not actually breaking the law, such cont…

ECA helps clubs flex their muscles and increase their influence

Something of the ridiculousness of modern elite football could be found on the streets of central Vienna on Monday night as hundreds of the game’s power brokers were escorted across the city to make sure they didn’t miss their dinner. Oliver Kahn was hugger-mugger with Michael Ballack, the Uefa president, Aleksander Ceferin, was being pursued by the Leeds owner, Andrea Radrizzani, and Ajax’s Edwin van der Sar was trying to find out whether Roman Abramovich had been poisoned. They were part of a cohort that resembled a bunch of exchange students as they followed a big sign saying “ECA” to a grand restaurant where the food was later described as disappointing.

The European Club Association is, depending on who you listen to, the secr…

Ogbene sympathises with Kenny after Ireland’s Euro 2024 hopes finally ended

Chiedozie Ogbene has admitted he feels sorry for Stephen Kenny, the under-fire Republic of Ireland manager, after their lingering hopes of Euro 2024 qualification were finally dashed.

Kenny’s reign seemingly reached the point of no return on Friday night when a 2-0 home defeat by Greece left his team with just three points from a possible 18 in Group B and mathematically unable to clinch a place in the top two. Ireland head for Gibraltar on Monday evening with only pride at stake and, while Kenny received assurances last week that he would remain in charge until after next month’s fixtures, discontent with the direction of travel under his charge has reached fever pitch.

A few thoughts on the start of 2022 World Cup

While the World Cup started yesterday, it doesn’t really kick off until today. The World Cup, for fans, is about the NCAA tournament-type feel of multiple games every day, and there are three today and four per for the next couple of weeks. That’s the real tournament. If we didn’t all feel weird enough about this particular World Cup, FIFA, its president, the Qatari ruling family, and FOX certainly did their best to make sure whoever didn’t, joined the club over the weekend. It’s nearly impossible to not feel some level of conflict about this one. At least awkwardness, given that it’s taking place in November and December instead of June and July where it belongs. It doesn’t feel quite right, out of rhythm. That’s not nearly the whole story obviously, but it’s a nice…

NBA Accepts Weak HB2 Repeal, Will Bring 2019 All-Star Game To Charlotte

The NBA announced on Wednesday that Charlotte will host the 2019 All-Star Game, fulfilling the league’s initial plan to return the event should North Carolina modify or repeal House Bill 2. Charlotte was initially slated to host this year’s All-Star event, but the NBA pulled the high-profile exhibition last July in response to the discriminatory legislation, which was passed in March 2016. The game was held instead in New Orleans. The league joins the NCAA and ACC in returning its lucrative neutral location events to the state that was, until it passed its recent half-assed repeal in late March, being boycotted by the sports leagues for HB2. The bill, which gained notoriety for being an anti-trans bathroom bill, also prevented cities from passing their own anti-discrimination or…

Why Your Team Sucks 2013: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Some people are fans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But many, many more people are NOT fans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This 2013 Deadspin NFL team preview is for those in the latter group. Read all the 2013 NFL previews so far right here. Your team: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Your 2012 record: 7-9. The Bucs lost five of their last six games to close out the season, and they lost the final 10 games of the 2011 season. Boy, they really know how to finish up strong, don't they? Even Tony Romo thinks you people suck at finishing things. NOBODY ALLOWS LARGE OPEN GAPS BETWEEN THE WAGONS LIKE THE TAMPA BAY BUCS. Your coach: Greg Schiano. Greg Schiano could win 15 Super Bowls (don't worry, he won't actually do this) and the first thing people will still remember about him is th…
